Abstract

Skin diseases are a very common health problem worldwide, usually self-evident by virtue of the visibility of symptoms. Diagnosis at an early stage and identification with reasonable accuracy can effectively help in treatment and management. This research is an attempt to propose a robust model using machine learning for skin disease detection from dermatoscopic images. The proposed system’s methodology encompasses image preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification techniques using state-of-the-art algorithms. This will be demonstrated using a model for the accurate classification of different skin diseases on a publicly available dataset for experimentation. Results from this study add to the advancement of teledermatology and improve patient care.
