Abstract

The internet has drastically altered the world of computing, from its introduction in the 1990s to its current state of ubiquitous computing. Parallel computing was first introduced, followed by distributed computing, grid computing, and most recently, cloud computing. Even though cloud computing is not a new concept, it is still in its infancy in computer science. Cloud computing may be defined as a computer environment in which a party can outsource its computing requirements to another party and access computing resources, such as databases and emails, over the internet whenever needed. A more recent development in IT is cloud computing, which shifts data and computation from desktop and portable PCs to massive data centers. The primary benefit of cloud computing is that users do not have to pay for equipment, installation, labor costs associated with maintaining such infrastructure, or other related expenses. In this article, we will talk about cloud computing, it’s architectural design for applications, and how it makes all of this feasible.
