Abstract

In the fast-changing digital economy of the day, the hospitality and tourism sector is undergoing a revolutionary change powered by innovative marketing tactics and technology integration. This research looks into the ways small businesses and Indian tourism boards are using integrated marketing communication (IMC) and new technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) to drive brand awareness, consumer participation, and destination appeal. Small catering companies and tourism destinations such as Kerala are leading this digital revolution, embracing new tools to develop immersive, data-centric, and emotionally connected marketing campaigns. The research examines how these two forces—IMC and technological innovation—aid competitive advantage, customer satisfaction, and sustainable tourism development. Employing a multi-dimensional strategy, the present research integrates qualitative techniques like case studies, interviews, and content analysis to analyze the interaction of IMC strategies and immersive technologies in urban as well as regional domains. The initial dimension is concerned with small catering businesses in Kolkata who are testing out IMC in order to enhance brand identity and customer loyalty within a competition-inclined marketplace. The second axis examines Kerala Tourism’s use of Virtual Reality as a tool of destination marketing, how experiential travel decisions can be shaped by immersive offerings, and how the emotional relationships with would-be visitors can be enhanced through such experiences. In examining these two markets together, the paper offers a complete insight into the ways that innovation is transforming established marketing models within the hospitality and tourism industries.
