Abstract

The common usage of plastic water bottles in India does raise questions about environmental sustainability and consumer awareness. This paper follows the dimensions of meaning related to numbers engraved on such bottles, which signify recycling codes, production information, and safety features. We evaluate general public understanding about such markings concerning health and environmental implications through two survey methods-in-person and interview-and assess related response issues. It further recognizes a knowledge gap and finds suitable education programs to enlighten consumers on the right informed choice. The aim of this research work is to spread awareness and educate the public regarding the proper use and recycling of plastic bottles responsibly.
