Abstract

With the increasing complexity and scale of modern networks, traditional traffic management techniques are often inadequate. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative solution, offering capabilities for dynamic optimization, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics. This chapter surveys the application of AI techniques in network traffic management, focusing on supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning approaches. Key challenges and future research directions are also discussed, emphasizing the integration of AI with emerging technologies like 5G, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and edge computing.
