Abstract

Blockchain technology, with its inherent capabilities for secure and transparent data management, is revolutionizing many industries, particularly mobile application development. The number of people using Android, the most popular mobile operating system, allows a vast platform where blockchain integrations can enhance security, efficiency, and functionality in mobile applications. Research has been conducted on how blockchain technology should be effectively integrated into Android apps to enable secure transactions, maintain data integrity, and support DApps. The paper gives a look into the technical architecture of blockchain-based Android applications, touching on fundamental elements such as smart contracts, distributed ledgers, and cryptographic algorithms. Moreover, it offers real-world use cases in areas such as finance, healthcare, supply chain, and identity verification.

Challenges in android apps with integrating blockchain. Areas of computational overhead, energy usage, storage restrictions, and uptake by users all come under observation, as does the potential application of lightweight protocols for blockchain off-chain data storages. For developers, relevant development frameworks and tools and blockchains’ Application Programming Interfaces help them in preparing a practical route for the realization of blockchain with Android. In addition, this article recognizes the necessity of user experience design to smoothly integrate blockchain-based features.

The research will conclude by stating the future predictions of blockchain-enabled Android applications based on emerging trends, such as hybrid blockchain models, privacy-preserving technologies, and cross-platform blockchain ecosystems. The findings conclude that the amalgamation of blockchain technology with Android applications has tremendous potential to rewrite the mobile solutions landscape, foster trust, increase transparency, and drive innovation across various sectors.
