Abstract

Stem cell biotechnology and regenerative medicine are rapidly advancing fields with substantial therapeutic potential. Stem cells, capable of differentiating into various cell types, play a crucial role in tissue engineering and developmental biology. They are increasingly applied in drug testing, disease modelling, and cell-based therapies for conditions like arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, type 1 diabetes, and coronary diseases. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) show promise in regenerative therapies for heart failure, wound healing, and tooth regeneration, although clinical outcomes remain variable. Advances such as lab-grown blood stem cells offer revolutionary possibilities for bone marrow transplants, particularly for children with blood disorders. Furthermore, regenerative medicines are being developed to grow new tissues and organs, offering potential cures for chronic conditions like heart disease and fibrosis. These innovations highlight the transformative potential of stem cell biotechnology, offering hope for long-term, effective treatments for a variety of debilitating diseases and improving overall human health and longevity.
