Dr. Nilanjana Mitra is an Assistant Professor and also the Head of the Department of Psychology, at Swami Vivekananda University (SVU), Kolkata, India. She has done her Ph.D. in Psychology from Calcutta University. She is also a RCI recognised Rehabilitation Psychology practitioner.
Dr. Mitra has formerly worked as Psychological Counsellor for various NGOs of repute and also as Research Assistant for various research projects. She has contributed significantly to the field of Psychology through her research papers, book chapters, and articles published in peer-reviewed national and international journals, including ABDC -A Journal. Her research work has been recognized through grants and her research interest lies in the areas of marginalization, women empowerment, gerontological studies and other pertinent areas related to Social Psychology. Moreover, Dr. Mitra is also the editor of the books Emergence of Psychology and Mapping the Mind: An Exploration of Psychology.
