Abstract

This study investigates the resilience of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during the challenging times of the lockdown period, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic as a case study. The research examines the adaptive strategies, coping mechanisms, and resilience factors employed by MSMEs to navigate through the economic disruptions caused by the lockdown measures. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and case studies, data was collected from a diverse sample of MSMEs across various sectors and geographical locations. The findings shed light on the key resilience drivers such as financial preparedness, digital readiness, diversified income streams, and social capital. Moreover, the study identifies barriers and vulnerabilities that hindered resilience, including limited access to capital, lack of digital infrastructure, and supply chain disruptions. The research contributes to both theoretical understanding and practical implications by providing insights into the dynamic nature of MSME resilience and offering recommendations for policymakers, business owners, and support organizations to bolster resilience and mitigate future crises.
